A special event was held last weekend: "Welcome back - Saalbach 1991"

The Austrian Saalbach heroes of 1991, including world champion Petra Kronberger, double world champion Stephan Eberharter, silver medal winner Thomas Stangassinger, bronze medal winner Günther Mader, bronze medal winner Anita Wachter and many other ski legends gathered for a ski race with children from the Saalbach Hinterglemm Ski Club.

"The weekend has shown that the Ski Austria family is looking forward to the upcoming World Championships. It fills me with pride that so many athletes have followed our invitation, making this event so special", said Roswitha Stadlober, President of the Austrian Ski Federation.

The weekend was rounded off with a charming evening event, where the "1991-Athletes" exchanged memories in a relaxed atmosphere and the anticipation of the upcoming 2025 World Ski Championships in Saalbach was touchable.

During a press conference, Florian Phleps, Project Coordinator Saalbach 2025, also announced the goal for this "ÖSV lighthouse project": “The World Ski Championships should spark enthusiasm for skiing among the population and provide lasting memories for young skiers and the region. We also want to present ourselves as the perfect host!"

Advance ticket sales starts on February 4

Last weekend also marked the start of the official ticket sale for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025.

„For the moment, only World Championship advantage passes are available. These passes are 10-15% cheaper than the single-day tickets, are not personalized and can be transferred. Fans should stay in the Glemmtal as long as possible. This also has to do with our sustainability concept. Single-day tickets will be available for sale fall 2024", explains Florian Phleps.
