Saalbach Hinterglemm has been committed to the Glemmtal valley’s skiing scene with professionalism and passion for over 100 years. And with plenty to show for it, too! Many races — including several world cups — have been successfully held over the past years. Among the main attractions for the upcoming season are the Men’s Europa Cup race on 21 and 22 December, as well as the Austrian Championships from 20 to 28 March.

In the end of October, however, Saalbach’s event calendar saw a new addition: The Audi FIS Ski World Cup! Following the cancellation in Sölden, Saalbach was selected as the replacement destination. “We are ready! And we are looking forward to being able to host the World Cup race on 20 December,” says Bartl Gensbichler, president of Salzburg’s provincial skiing association and chairman of the Schiclub Saalbach Hinterglemm, with a big smile on his face. According to Gensbichler, everything at the organising committee is going according to plan. “We’re all set and ready to go!”

"The preparations are running like a clockwork. The snowfall of the last days conjured up a beautiful winter scenery in Saalbach Hinterglemm and the slope at the Zwölferkogel is already open this weekend. We have the perfect basis for another successful World Cup”, says Mayor and President of the organising committee Alois Hasenauer about the current status of the preparations.
