Saalbach Hinterglemm once again becomes the stage for bike enthusiasts from around the world

From September 4 to 7, 2025, Saalbach Hinterglemm will once again be the epicenter of the mountain biking community: the World Games of Mountainbiking will celebrate their 26th edition – a true highlight for both hobby bikers and licensed racers alike. Three days of racing, over 1,000 participants from more than 20 nations, and a diverse supporting program make this event a key fixture on the bike calendar.

Marathon on Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Five Distances for Every Level
Whether you're a beginner or an ambitious biker – the marathon offers a challenge suited for every fitness level. The courses wind through the impressive mountain world around Saalbach Hinterglemm, offering breathtaking views, challenging climbs, and cheering fans at key points along the route.

The five distances at a glance:

  • Marathon 21 (777 meters of elevation)
    The perfect course for beginners or new mountain bikers – short, challenging, and scenically beautiful.
  • Marathon 31 (967 meters of elevation)
    An ideal choice for those who are active and want to try longer distances – demanding, yet achievable.
  • Marathon 42 (1,974 meters of elevation)
    For experienced bikers looking for their first major challenge. Includes the steep climb to the Schattberg East summit – this is where the strong separate from the rest.
  • Marathon 58 (2,931 meters of elevation)
    A real challenge for riders in peak physical condition who want to push themselves on long climbs and technical descents.
  • Marathon 80 (3,716 meters of elevation)
    The king of all distances! Only for the toughest – maximum elevation, technical sections, and the full World Games experience.

E-Bike Marathon: Powering Through the Mountains
Also on Saturday, E-Bike fans can take part in the E-Marathon, covering more than 42 kilometers and around 1,700 meters of elevation. Participants will experience the full marathon vibe – with electric support and the usual competitive atmosphere.

Junior Trophy: A Big Day for the Youngsters
Sunday, September 7, is dedicated to the next generation of mountain bikers: at the Junior Trophy, kids up to the age of 13 will compete in six age categories. The circuit, designed with age-appropriate challenges, promises fun, excitement, and unforgettable experiences – not only for the kids but also for the many fans and families cheering on the sidelines.
