For the 44th time, the Farmers’ Market in Hinterglemm celebrated local customs and regional diversity in a relaxed atmosphere. Numerous exhibitors offered their locally crafted products and gave visitors the opportunity to watch traditional craftspeople at work.

Traditional Parade Featuring 25 Local Groups

One of the special highlights was once again the traditional parade on Saturday, led by the Saalbach Hinterglemm traditional brass band. Around 25 associations and groups presented their traditions to spectators along Hinterglemm’s village centre.

In addition to traditional music and excellent regional cuisine, visitors enjoyed a varied programme throughout the weekend. On Friday, locals and guests competed against each other in the now legendary “Trachtengolf” event. On Saturday, the 4th Farmers’ Market Ranggeln competition – which also served as the local championship of the Saalbach Rangglerverein – offered spectators the chance to experience this traditional local wrestling sport up close. On Sunday, the original Farmers’ Market Frühschoppen, featuring Bartl Gensbichler and his Skilehrermusi, brought the weekend to a lively conclusion.

The 44th Hinterglemm Farmers’ Market once again demonstrated how customs and traditions are brought to life in Saalbach Hinterglemm – and how they bring together people from the region and visitors alike.

“For 44 years, the Hinterglemm Farmers’ Market has been an integral part of life in our community and a very special highlight in our annual calendar. It combines tradition and living customs with personal encounters, giving locals and visitors alike the opportunity to experience the authentic side of our region. For me, it is wonderful to see people coming together here to celebrate, laugh and create lasting memories,” says Alois Hasenauer, Mayor of Saalbach Hinterglemm.

A big thank you goes to all participating associations and exhibitors whose dedication contributed to the success of the event. The next event highlight celebrating traditional music and regional culinary specialities will be the opening of the Saalbach Schmankerlherbst on 19 September 2026. The 45th Hinterglemm Farmers’ Market will take place from 6.-8. August 2027.
