44th Hinterglemm Farmers' Market
07.-09.08.2026
From 07.-09. August 2026, the traditional Hinterglemm Farmers' Market returns for its 44th edition. Numerous exhibitors present regional specialities and handcrafted products – from freshly baked bread and flavourful cheeses to fine schnapps and beautifully handcrafted goods. Visitors can not only sample and purchase local products but also watch the producers at work. Throughout the weekend, a variety of local music groups provide lively entertainment.
One of the most entertaining traditions is the unique Traditional Costume Golf, taking place on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday at noon, the 4th Farmers' Market "Ranggel Tournament" begins. This traditional Alpine wrestling competition also serves as the local championship of the Glemmtal "Ranggel" club. Later that afternoon, the highlight of the weekend takes place: the grand festive parade featuring beautifully decorated horse-drawn carriages, brass bands and numerous local associations.
Another event not to be missed is the authentic Farmers' Market Frühschoppen on Sunday from 10:30, featuring Bartl Gensbichler and his Ski Instructors' Band.

Saalbach Trail & Skyrace
15.–16.08.2026
Calling all trail running enthusiasts: if you're looking for a true challenge in the Home of Lässig, the Saalbach Trail & Skyrace on 15. and 16. August is the place to be!
This year, runners can choose from seven different race formats. Options range from the more accessible Soultrail (9 km / 450 m ascent) to the demanding Vertical Extreme (3.3 km / 1,000 m ascent), the 6-Hour Challenge on the Schattberg, the 6 Summits Martini Skyrace (19 km / 2,100 m ascent), the 6 Summits Speed (16 km / 1,100 m ascent) and the 13 Summits Sky Marathon (47 km / 3,500 m ascent).
New for 2026 is the 12 Summits Speed, covering 44 km with 2,500 metres of elevation gain on Saturday. It offers an excellent alternative for runners who would prefer to skip the demanding first climb to the Schattberg. Whether you're standing on the start line or cheering from the sidelines, the Saalbach Trail & Skyrace is an event not to be missed. More information about the Saalbach Trail & Skyrace can be found here.
Bike Workshops, Guided Hikes & Family Highlights
Throughout August
Beyond the major events, Saalbach Hinterglemm offers an extensive summer activity programme throughout August. Best of all, many highlights – including mountain lift rides – are already included with the JOKER CARD. Those who prefer to explore the region with experienced guides can join up to ten guided hikes each week between May and October. Accompanied by certified hiking guides, participants gain fascinating insights into the area's nature, wildlife, landscapes and local traditions. The local mountain and bike schools also offer a wide range of bike courses and workshops for both beginners and experienced riders. The popular Hinterglemm Gasslfest, held weekly until mid-September, brings music, entertainment and a lively atmosphere to the village centre. A special highlight for younger guests in the Home of Lässig are the weekly meet-and-greet sessions with Montelino and Kodok, Saalbach Hinterglemm's much-loved mascots.
