HINTERGLEMM. Starting with the 2026/27 winter season, guests can look forward to significantly greater comfort, quality, and flow. The existing lift, built in 1997, will be replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-passenger monocable gondola from Doppelmayr.

D1 Reiterkogel will be constructioned in a new way.The big highlight: the new second section. It will in future take guests directly to the summit of the Reiterkogel — while at the same time creating direct access from the center of Hinterglemm right into the mountain experience.

Spacious cabins and barrier-free boarding areas ensure that everyone feels comfortable here — from families and bikers to winter sports enthusiasts. Large photovoltaic systems are also planned on the open areas of the stations, which will help supply the cable car with green, self-generated electricity.

“After two intensive years, we will start construction of the Reiterkogelbahn on April 7 — the first cable car we are allowed to build in our role as managing directors. For Wolfgang Gensbichler and me, this project is therefore something very special — full of passion, shaped by many learning moments and strong team spirit. We are proud and grateful that our vision is now becoming reality thanks to our shareholders, employees and landowners,” says Managing Director Manuel Hirner.

The investment clearly shows where the journey is heading: toward the future — comfortable, family-friendly and at a top level.

HOCHALM – YOUR MOUNTAIN OF EXPERIENCES
During the construction phase, the mountain experience in Hinterglemm will remain varied: the summer offer will move to the Hochalm and bring fresh momentum there with new attractions.

Fun and adventure are ensured, among other things, by Kodok, the guardian of the Reiterkogel, who will temporarily relocate to the Hochalm for the summer season. Around the Hochalm reservoir, an educational trail will be created where he will introduce both young and older guests to the most important tasks of the mountain railway. Guided hikes, the OKIDOKI children’s festival on July 24, as well as an outdoor fitness area will provide additional fun, exercise and variety for all ages.

In short: this summer, the Hochalm will develop into a diverse adventure mountain — while the Reiterkogel is being rebuilt in a new and modern form.
