Outstanding Victories in Saalbach Hinterglemm // Save the Date
Top-Class Races and Thrilling Challenges
This year's World Games delivered thrilling competitions at the highest level. The four marathon distances—21, 42, 58, and the king's distance of 80 kilometers—pushed the athletes to their limits.
Germans Daniela Höfler and Aaron Wilhelmi conquered the impressive 80 kilometers and 3,788 meters of elevation gain, finishing the king's distance with times of 5:24:23 and 4:21:58h, respectively. Michaela Barz-Herold took the victory in the women's race on the shorter Marathon 58 course. Julian Hatzold dominated the men's Marathon 58. Other fastest finishers included Nina Gunther (42 km) and Manuela Hartl (21 km). In the men's categories, Maxi Spahn (42 km) and Günther Flatscher (21 km) claimed victories in their respective distances.
Strong Participation in the E-Bike Marathon and Junior Trophy
The E-Bike Marathon, now in its third edition, also saw strong participation. On the new 42-kilometer route with 1,700 meters of elevation gain, e-bikers enjoyed the full marathon experience and the stunning beauty of the region. In the women’s category, Laura Gruber claimed victory with a time of 1:31:12, while in the men’s category, Louis Büttner secured his win with a time of 1:28:09, just a few seconds ahead.
For the youngest mountain bike enthusiasts, the Junior Trophy on Sunday was a special highlight. Children up to 13 years old competed in various age groups, showcasing their skills on a circuit course. The enthusiasm of the kids and the support from the audience created a fantastic atmosphere, once again highlighting the strong sense of community that defines this event.
A Quarter-Century of Mountain Biking History
Since 1999, the World Games of Mountainbiking have brought together athletes from around the world and evolved into a true celebration of mountain biking. Over the past 25 years, the event has become a cornerstone of the mountain biking scene and continues to grow.
“The anniversary was a tremendous success and another milestone in the history of the World Games of Mountainbiking,” said Wolfgang Breitfuß, Director of the Saalbach Hinterglemm Tourism Board. “We are thrilled to have once again inspired so many people with mountainbiking and look forward to many more years ahead.”
Cycling for a Good Cause
As in previous years, participants pedaled hard for a good cause. This year, a donation of € 10,000 was raised in support of DEBRA – Help for Butterfly Children.
