A whole weekend full of mountain biking, road biking and graveling in bright sunshine.
Saalbach Hinterglemm became the epicentre of the international bike and mountain bike scene for the first time from 16 to 19 June 2022. After a long wait, the Global Bike Festival by GCN could finally take place. The festival focused on road biking, mountain, gravel and e-mountain biking as well as various side events. Music, entertainment and culinary delights were also on offer.
International participants
Over 400 cycling enthusiasts from all over the world travelled to spend an unforgettable bike weekend at the Home of Lässig. Hosted by Playsports Network, the largest cycling media company in the world, participants from 20 different nations gathered in Saalbach Hinterglemm to share the joy of road cycling and mountain biking. This is an enormous step for the region, as it has opened up new markets throughout Europe and even acquired new target groups worldwide.
Everything about biking
The centrepiece of the weekend was the Festival Area at the Schattberg X-Press valley station in Saalbach. From there, the participants set off with their bikes in fantastic weather to the various locations in the region. Countless trails and bike routes were explored, accompanied by 17 presenters and numerous special guests from the GCN, GMBN and EMBN networks.
Several competitions and challenges provided entertainment throughout the weekend. From a race track across the Schattberg X-Press underground car park to competitions against the presenters of the Global Cycling Network, there were no limits for the participants. In between, there were various coaching sessions, master classes and lectures for visitors to discover in the Festival Area. In addition, exhibitors such as Kona and Isadore presented the latest bikes and technologies on site.
Music and entertainment
In the evenings, the visitors of the Global Bike Festival by GCN were offered a lot. With live shows, pub quiz events, karaoke nights and DJ sets, which took place at various locations in Saalbach Hinterglemm, the end of each day was celebrated in style.

There is good news for all bike fans. The Global Bike Festival by GCN will take place in Saalbach again next year. The announcement of the date will follow.
