The first races have begun, and the atmosphere in the town couldn’t be better. “After years of preparation, the thrilling start of the World Ski Championships in Saalbach has finally arrived. We look forward to two weeks full of exciting races and great entertainment. This will be the coolest World Ski Championships ever!” said Wolfgang Breitfuß, Director of the Saalbach Hinterglemm Tourist Board.
First World Champions already crowned
With the Team Parallel event and the opening ceremony, the exciting kick-off of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships was a success. A total of 37 artists participated in the opening ceremony, including Toby Romeo, who created the official World Championship song "Highs & Lows." The first World Championship title in Team Parallel went to Italy, narrowly beating Switzerland. The bronze medal went to Sweden.
What can spectators expect?
In addition to thrilling competitions, where the ski stars will compete in eleven races on the Zwölferkogel, there is also plenty for fans to experience. Saalbach will transform into the epicenter of international skiing in the coming days. With exciting races, music, culinary delights, and a diverse program in the fan mile, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re a winter sports pro or a relaxed spectator.
The Fan Mile: This is where the action happens!
The fan zone stretches from the Hinterglemm bus terminal to the World Championship stadium on the Zwölferkogel. Along the 950-meter-long route, there are numerous dining and entertainment areas. The unique mix of sporting highlights and first-class entertainment with well-known live bands, DJs, walking acts, and much more makes the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025 the coolest World Championships ever!

- Tickets: Tickets for the races are available on-site or conveniently online – hurry up and grab yours!
- Arrival: Ski directly to the races of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025 in Salzburger Land! This is only possible in the Home of Lässig, as the Zwölferkogel – just like the entire Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn – will remain open for public skiing throughout the competition. Alternatively, public transport is recommended, as the World Championships ticket is valid as a public transport pass for all of Salzburger Land!

A unique mix of athletic excellence, exciting competitions, and top-notch entertainment make this event the coolest World Championships ever. 34 years after the legendary Sunshine World Championship of 1991, from February 4 to 16, 2025, a celebration of skiing will take place with unrestricted ski operations in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn!
